BACKGROUND:
Streptavidin-coated plates offer a powerful and universal tool for binding any biotinylated molecule including proteins, antibodies, peptides, polysaccharides and oligonucleotides. Many molecules can be easily be labeled with biotin, which is a small molecule of 244 Da. The streptavidin-coated microplates make it possible to quickly isolate and quantify biotinylated components of a reaction mixture, and also make it possible to immobilize a biotinylated reaction component and complete an assay on a plate.
