DESCRIPTION:

This recombinant human GLP1R protein is made from HEK-293 cells. The polypeptide sequence is the sequence of human GLP1R extracellular domain (corresponding to amino acids 24-145) fused to a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus. This GLP1R ECD protein is useful for any in vitro study with relevance to weight control, diabetes, and GLP1 pathway.

Also known as: GLP-1 receptor, GLP-1-R,GLP-1R.

BACKGROUND:

Human GLP1R (Glucagon-like Peptide 1 Receptor) is a receptor for Glucagon-like Peptide (GLP-1), a regulator of insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells. It is a class B, G protein-linked protein with 7 transmembrane domains that is expressed in the pancreas, lungs, heart, kidneys, hypothalamus, and stomach. GLP-1 has health relevance as it has been shown to reduce body weight, which is  a favorable condition for many people with type 2 diabetes. Known agonists for GLP1R include GLP-1, Boc5, and Cpd1.
